Configuring DSCP Priorities

You can configureDSCPDifferentiated Services Code Point. DSCP is a 6-bit packet header value used for traffic classification and priority assignment.priorities forWMMWi-Fi Multimedia. WMM is also known as WME. It refers to a Wi-Fi Alliance interoperability certification, based on the IEEE 802.11e standard. It provides basic QoS features to IEEE 802.11 networks. WMM prioritizes traffic according to four ACs: voice (AC_VO), video (AC_VI), best effort (AC_BE), and background (AC_BK).packets in the following ways:

For example, you can have differentToSType of Service. The ToS field is part of the IPv4 header, which specifies datagrams priority and requests a route for low-delay, high-throughput, or a highly reliable service.values set for different voice traffic in a network. To prioritize all of them in the voice queue, we can set the 802.1p priority to voice.

Consider a deployment where Cisco Softphone, Microsoft Skype for Business, and Avaya Scopia are configured with the followingDSCPDifferentiated Services Code Point. DSCP is a 6-bit packet header value used for traffic classification and priority assignment.:

Cisco Softphone -DSCPDifferentiated Services Code Point. DSCP is a 6-bit packet header value used for traffic classification and priority assignment.46

Microsoft Skype for Business -DSCPDifferentiated Services Code Point. DSCP is a 6-bit packet header value used for traffic classification and priority assignment.44

Avaya Scopia -DSCPDifferentiated Services Code Point. DSCP is a 6-bit packet header value used for traffic classification and priority assignment.42

In the absence of doing anything, all of theDSCPDifferentiated Services Code Point. DSCP is a 6-bit packet header value used for traffic classification and priority assignment.above would map into the video queue. To map all the traffic into voice queue, you can use the followingACLAccess Control List. ACL is a common way of restricting certain types of traffic on a physical port.configuration:

(host) [md] (config) #wlan ssid-profile VOICE

(host) ^[md] (SSID Profile "VOICE") #wmm-vo-dscp 46

(host) ^[md] (SSID Profile "VOICE") #!

(host) ^[md] (config) #ip access-list session VOICE

(host) ^[md] (config-submode)#any destination permit tos 44 dot1p-priority 6

(主机)^ (md) (config-submode) #任何目的地(SCOPIA_SERVER] [SCOPIA _PORTS] permit tos 42 dot1p-priority 6

You must know the ports on which each traffic is sent so that the correct traffic is identified.
