Configuring ANQP IP Address Availability Profiles

Use this profile to specify the types of IPv4 and IPv6 IP addresses available in thehotspotHotspot refers to a WLAN node that provides Internet connection and virtual private network (VPN) access from a given location. A business traveler, for example, with a laptop equipped for Wi-Fi can look up a local hotspot, contact it, and get connected through its network to reach the Internet.network. This information is sent in anANQPAccess Network Query Protocol. ANQP is a query and a response protocol for Wi-Fi hotspot services. ANQP includes information Elements (IEs) that can be sent from the AP to the client to identify the AP network and service provider. The IEs typically include information about the domain name of the AP operator, the IP addresses available at the AP, and information about potential roaming partners accessible through the AP. If the client responds with a request for a specific IE, the AP will send a Generic Advertisement Service (GAS) response frame with the configured ANQP IE information.information element in aGASGeneric Advertisement Service. GAS is a request-response protocol, which provides Layer 2 transport mechanism between a wireless client and a server in the network prior to authentication. It helps in determining a wireless network infrastructure before associating clients, and allows clients to send queries to multiple 802.11 networks in parallel.query response.

To send the values configured in this profile to clients, associate this profile with an advertisement profile, then associate the advertisement profile with aHotspotHotspot refers to a WLAN node that provides Internet connection and virtual private network (VPN) access from a given location. A business traveler, for example, with a laptop equipped for Wi-Fi can look up a local hotspot, contact it, and get connected through its network to reach the Internet.2.0 profile. 1.In theMobility Masternode hierarchy, navigate toConfiguration > System > Profiles.

2.In theAll Profiles表,扩大Wireless LAN.

3.ExpandANQP IP Address Availability

4.Select an existing profile from the list of profiles or create a new profile by clicking+.

5.Configure the following parameters as desired, then clickSubmitto save your settings.

Description

IPv4 Address Availability Type

Indicate the availability of an IPv4 network by clicking theIPv4 Address Availability Typedrop-down list and selecting one of the following options:

availability-unknown: Network availability cannot be determined.

not-available: Network is not available.

port-restricted: Some ports are restricted (e.g., the network blocks port 110 to restrict POP mail).

port-restricted-double-nated: Some ports are restricted and multiple routers perform network address translation.

port-restricted-single-nated: Some ports are restricted and a single router performs network address translation.

private-double-nated: Network is a private network with multiple routers doing network address translation.

private-single-nated: Network is a private network a single router doing network address translation.

public: Network is a public network.

IPv6 Address Availability Type

Indicate the availability of an IPv6 network by clicking theIPv6 Address Availability Typedrop-down list and selecting one of the following options:

available: An IPv6 network is available.

availability-unknown: Network availability cannot be determined.

not-available: Network is not available.
